Together in cooperation with the Hayrat Humanitarian Aid Foundation, the Ümraniye Municipality sent off six trucks of aid accompanied by prayers, collected in a tent set up in Ümraniye Square, to the Bayirbucak Turkmen. Many Ümraniye residents gathered at the send off, where Mayor Hasan Can said, “We owe it to help our brothers and sisters.”
The countrywide sensitivity shown in aid to the Bayirbucak Turkmen was also echoed in Ümraniye. As a result of the charity project for Bayirbucak Turkmen, organized together with the Ümraniye Municipality and the Hayrat Humanitarian Aid Foundation and brought to life with the slogan “It’s Time for Fellowship Ümraniye,” the first trucks were sent off accompanied with prayers. Supplies, such as food, clothing, stationary, toys, blankets, and diapers, collected in a tent set up in Ümraniye Square was sent off to Bayirbucak for the Turkmen. Alongside Ümraniye Municipality Mayor Hasan Can, Ümraniye District Governor Suat Dervişoğlu, the AK Party's Ümraniye District Head Enver Sedat Çakıroğlu, Esq., Ümraniye Mufti İlyas Yılmaztürk, Hayrat Humanitarian Aid Foundation Head Hakkı Aygün, Esq., AK Party Ümraniye District Women’s Branch Head Mukkades Bilgin, Director of AK Party Ümraniye Youth Sections Mustafa Yasin Çakar, Ümraniye Municipal Director of National Education Süleyman Gökçimen, Ümraniye Municipality Vice-Mayors, unite managers and citizens attended the ceremony for sending off the gathered aid.
The ceremony began with the Hayrat Humanitarian Aid Foundation’s Head Hakkı Aygün, Esq.’s opening speech. Talking about the Hayrat Humanitarian Aid Foundation’s activities, Aygün said, “We are always on the side of our impoverished brothers and sisters, I would like to thank Ümraniye Municipal Mayor Hasan Can and the benevolent citizens for this charity for Bayirbucak.”
Afterwards in his speech, the AK Party's Ümraniye District Head Enver Sedat Çakıroğlu, Esq. said, “We are sending our Turkmen brothers and sisters, trucks in aid showing our Ümraniye citizens’ sensitivity and consciousness. I congratulate everyone who helped in organizing such an organization in a short period of time. I would like to thank especially the dear Municipal Mayor Hasan Can, the Hayrat Humanitarian Aid Foundation and everyone who participated.”
Giving a speech at the ceremony, Ümraniye Municipal Mayor Hasan Can said, “We must head the voices of the oppressed which the world doesn’t hear. We cannot remain quiet; we owe it to help our brothers and sisters. We cannot live disregarding our brothers and sisters who, despite being innocent, are victims because of world powers conducting their own wars in the Muslim geography. Despite attempts to stop us, as a country we have remained upright and helped our brothers and sisters. Thankfully there is Turkey strong in all aspects that can say “I too am present in the Middle East.” Saying that “I have kin there,” and indicating that help to the Turkmen in Bayirbucak and all other oppressed people will continue, Mayor Hasan Can said, “Upon learning of the need of our brothers and sisters in Bayirbucak, within one week we have gathered six trucks worth of aid, may Allah bless you.” Thanking the Hayrat Humanitarian Aid Foundation for their joint efforts, Mayor Hasan Can said, “We lend our hand to whoever wants to do good and approaches with a charity project, there is no stinginess in charity.” Explaining the distribution path of the aid trucks carrying supplies to Bayirbucak, Mayor Hasan Can said, “The supplies will be distributed through the Red Crescent, the Republic of Turkey’s hand lent in aid, and with the direction of their representatives. May Allah allow your charity to result in good and show their reward in heaven.”
Giving a speech afterwards, Ümraniye District Governor Suat Dervişoğlu talked about the charity activities done in Ümraniye. Then, he thanked, first and foremost the Municipal Mayor Hasan Can, the Hayrat Foundation, everyone who participated and the Ümraniye peoples for the aid trucks to be sent to the Bayirbucak Turkmen.
At the end of the ceremony, the six trucks of gathered aid was sent off to Bayirbucak from the Ümraniye Square, accompanied with prayers. Aid for the Bayirbucak Turkmen will continue to be collected in Ümraniye until Sunday, January 31st. In order to help out, benevolent citizens need to go to the tent in the Ümraniye Square.
