In Turkey, there are internet users over 35 million. Commonly used Social Media Platforms are Facebook (93%), Twitter (72%), Instagram (70%) and Google+ (70%). In a day, a citizen spends approximately his/her 4.9 hours on the web with personal computer and 1.9 hour with his/her mobile device. In average 2 hours 32 minutes are spent on Social Media. By means of Social Media, it can be reached a lot of people and it can be communicated. By this means, citizens can share their suggestions, complaints and requests per Social Media.

ÜMRANİYE MUNICIPALITY ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Ümraniye Municipality is going on taking care of requests and complaints of citizens by using social media platform (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram) effectively. Owing to the dialogue surrounding that is formed with citizens, the Municipality is coming up with a solution by replying, in a short time, suggestions, complaints and questions of people that they’ve shared both in their Facebook and Twitter accounts.  

Besides the Municipality shares social and cultural events, projects, openings and news about the Municipality in its Social Media accounts to inform the citizens about these news in shorter time. Right along with announcing the services and activities of the Municipality to followers swiftly, requests and desires that followers have made are evaluated in a short time. The Municipality is accommodating citizens with getting information continuously about City Guide, Taxpaying, Pharmacies on Duty, Cultural and Art Activities and a lot of issues by using Call and Solution Centres and ‘www.umraniye.bel.tr’ address effectively. Thus, formation of a dialogue surrounding between the followers and the Municipality has been able to be ensured.
