Ümraniye Municipality became the locus of interest again with the 11th conventional Story, Painting and Poem contests this year, too. The contest with the theme “Çanakkale Victory in its 100th anniversary” was presented with a spectacular event in Marmaray Üsküdar Station and Üsküdar-Eminönü Ferries.
Ümraniye Municipality continues its permanent support for the art and the artists. Aiming to bring new aspects to the art world with its contest for 11 years, Municipality continues its protectorate in arts. The 11th Painting, Story and Poem contest with the topic “Çanakkale Victory in its 100th year,” was presented with a different event. Early in the morning, the passengers in Marmaray Üsküdar Station or using Üsküdar Eminönü Ferry had a pleasurable moment while listening to Çanakkale Folk Songs and songs of heroism played with bagpipe, kemancha, baglama, piano, violin and clarinet.
MAYOR HASAN CAN; “WITH OUR CONVENTIONAL STORY, PEOM AND PAINTING CONTESTS, WE GAIN MANY TALENTS TO ART AND LITERATURE”
Indicating that they gained several talents to art and literature with their conventional story, poem and painting contests and stressing Çanakkale Victory in the 11th year of the contest, Ümraniye Mayor Hasan Can said: “2015 is the 100th anniversary of Çanakkale Victory. This year painting, story and poem contest topic is Çanakkale Victory in its 100th anniversary… As Ümraniye Municipality, we hold an organization like this in order to remind the spirit of Çanakkale to our nation, remind this great feeling and make our poem, story and painting contests more popular in a healthier way.” Indicating that there were participations inside and outside the country, Mayor Hasan Can reminded that they would turn the winning paintings, stories and poems into a book this year, too and they would exhibit the pictures that won the contest in different platforms.
The promotional campaign of the painting, story and poem contests starting on December 18 continued with the speech of Mayor Hasan Can about the events to different TV channels in Marmaray Üsküdar east exit and Üsküdar Eminönü Ferry Port. Events continued in various AVMs and squares at the weekend. While the events were loved and had a huge place on social media, they became more colorful with the interviews made with the citizens.
