Our Directorate carries out Veterinary services in its region within the framework of the provisions of relevant law, regulation and bylaw. We can classify operations of our Directorate under three titles:

1- FIGHT AGAINST EPIDEMIC ANIMAL DISEASES

In the period of Sacrifice Holiday, all animals coming to animal sales points are examined and their health controls are made; they are registered and in order to prevent any epidemic animal diseases, animal sales points and slaughterhouses are periodically disinfected through medicines. Suspicious meats of animals slaughtered in the Sacrifice Holiday are examined, and meats dangerous for human health are destroyed.

2- FIGHT AGAINST ZOONOSIS

Duty of fighting against the status of unattended animals at streets is given to municipalities, according to Veterinary Services Law No. 5996. Our mission is to humanly solve the problem of unattended animals without any owners and shelters, which is a risk factor for zoonosis; and taking reproduction of these animals under control significantly. Making them live in the natural environment through protection with vaccination.

Our directorate have duties of minimizing risks of such zoonosis as hydrophobia, parasitic diseases, Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever, which threatens human health; contributing in increased life quality of people and animals.

At the Temporary animal care and rehabilitation center with 250 animals under the Directorate of Veterinary Services, our works continue in accordance with the Animal Protection Law No. 5199 and its relevant Bylaw.
